DESTROYING THE OLD MAN.
Text : Colossians 3:9 Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds;
Colossians 3:10 And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him:

and have put on the new self who is being renewed to a true knowledge according to the image of the One who created him--
There are two kinds of man in a man's life. Controlling the entire course of your life. The old man and the new man. One has power over the other depending on state of the man.
the old man is Satan's point of contact. We have this message in two sub topic :
1. PUTTING OFF THE OLD MAN.
The old man is the old life..
The old man is the body of sin...
The old man represents the old conversation...
It doesn't care who you are, it subject to bondage of different kinds as long as you allow him to exist..
It carry along with it every form of failures, disappointment, life of problems.
He makes you not to take your Christian faith seriously..
It steal your hunger for
It kills your zeal for God, love for God, faith in God filling you with every doubt, reasons and excuses.
A man who live like this doesn't receive anything from God. And doesn't go far in life.
Ephesians 4:22 That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts;
Romans 6:6 Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.
The power of the old man is broken on the cross. When our sins were placed on him.
👉HOW TO PUT OFF THE OLD MAN AND ITS DEEDS..
2. PUT ON THE NEW MAN.
The first step to destroy the old man and its works in your body is to
Embrace the new man and its life.
Colossians 3:10 And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him:
Ephesians 4:24 And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.
the new man is the new life in Christ.
The New man is renewed in the knowledge of God.
The New man is created in the image and likeness of God. Gen 3:
The image of God is the image of righteousness and true holiness.
Genesis 1:27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
1. Be in Christ. LIVING THE CHRISTIAN LIFE.
ACCEPT JESUS CHRIST INTO YOUR LIFE.
THE OLD MAN IS POWERLESS WERE CHRIST DOMINATES.
2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
2. STUDY THE BIBLE., PRACTICE GOD 's WORD.
The bible is God's written word, it's our source of faith.
1 John 5:13 These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.
3. WAIK BY FAITH, AND BE PRAYERFUL.
2 Corinthians 5:7 (For we walk by faith, not by sight:)
Romans 1:16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.
Romans 1:17 For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.
4. REJOICE PUBLICLY AND RESIST TEMPTATION.
Give your testimony for Christ and tell others what he has done for you.
St. Matthew 10:32 Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven.
St. Matthew 10:33 But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven.
James 1:12 Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.
Temptation is not sin, it is yielding to temptation that is sin.
5. RENDER TO GOD THINGS THAT BELONGS TO GOD.
St. Matthew 22:17 Tell us therefore, What thinkest thou? Is it lawful to give tribute unto Caesar, or not?
St. Matthew 22:19 Shew me the tribute money. And they brought unto him a penny.
St. Matthew 22:20 And he saith unto them, Whose is this image and superscription?
St. Matthew 22:21 They say unto him, Caesar's. Then saith he unto them, Render therefore unto Caesar the things which are Caesar's; and unto God the things that are God's.
start tithing and render your income to support God's work in the church.
Malachi 3:8 Will a man rob God? Yet ye have robbed me. But ye say, Wherein have we robbed thee? In tithes and offerings.
Malachi 3:9 Ye are cursed with a curse: for ye have robbed me, even this whole nation.
6.REGULARLY ATTEND A CHURCH FELLOWSHIP.
Hebrews 10:25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.
The Acts 20:7 And upon the first day of the week, when the disciples came together to break bread, Paul preached unto them, ready to depart on the morrow; and continued his speech until midnight.
FROM ORDINARY MEN TO ETRA-ORDINARY MEN.
The Acts 4:13 Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marvelled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus.
When Jesus wanted to choose His first 12 disciples, He did not choose the best men in the school of rabbi nor men of formal education , they were not Men of class but ordinary fisher Men, local men and tax collector, etc. BUT WHEN THEY MET JESUS THEY WERE TRANSFORMED BY HIS WORDS AND BECAME DISCIPLES AND WHEN THE HOLY GHOST FIRE CAME UPON THEM, THEY BECAME APOSTLES . MAY GOD ADD "EXTRA " TO YOUR ORDINARY LIFE AND MAKE IT ETRA -ORDINARY THROUGH JESUS CHRIST OUR LORD. #FireGospelMinistry
1 Corinthians 1:27-29 "But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God has chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty;
And base things of the world, and things which are despised, has God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nothing things that are:
That no flesh should glory in his presence.
